The number and frequency of adjustments vary from person to person. Most practice members sense progress within a week or two. As supporting muscles and ligaments heal, visits may become less frequent and we recommend maintenance care to prevent you from feeling like you did when you first reached out to us. Cases of long-term spinal neglect may require visits over many months or years but this is not always the case.

The pop you hear is just air being released from the joint. When you forcefully pop your own spine, it can cause a lot of damage in the ligaments that hold your joints together. Chiropractors are trained to adjust only in the necessary places to relieve pain and improve function, while avoiding damage to the connective tissue of each joint.

X-rays are an excellent tool to rule out serious conditions and concerns, but should not be used just to “see” the spine. In our practice, we pride ourselves on our thorough intake process. With a proper detailed intake and exam the doctor may be able to make a diagnosis without exposing you to the radiation of imaging. However, in the case of injuries or lack of improvement with care, x-rays let us see what is going on in the spine, and help us to rule out fractures, or more serious conditions. We will only utilize radiology after your exam, if it is necessary to the progression of your care. If x-rays are needed, they can be performed right here in the office.

It's common to be sore after the first couple adjustments as your body relearns proper alignment and motion/mobility. This soreness may feel similar to the soreness you feel after your first workout after some time of not exercising.

We like to say, “Rome wasn’t built in a day!”. Your spine did not get like this overnight, and it definitely won't go away over night. The key to success is consistency and repetition in order to retrain the body and spine to stay strong yet still mobile.

Chiropractors actually don't treat anything or heal you, your body does all the healing. We adjust the spine to remove interference in the nervous system and create more mobility around the joint, and your innate intelligence within the body does the rest. Pretty cool!

Chiropractic adjustments and massage work hand-in-hand for your wellbeing! While we recommend both, please speak with your provider to see if the combination of these services is a good option for you. In the case that each service is a good fit for you, we do recommend seeking the treatments on the same day or at least within 48 hours of each other for the best results.

Always! We utilize an app called Physiapp/Physitrack. This app is free to you as practice members, and allows our Doctor to provide you with a custom mobility and/or exercise plan to help you feel better between adjustments and even into maintenance care. As you improve and progress through care, we update your at home plan to keep you on the right track. Every body is different, so our protocols and care plans are different for each practice member.
